Get your Vote in before you get your Vote in at a few area restaurants/bakeries hosting Election season specials:
The Sweet Lobby is asking guests which dessert best represents their favorite candidate: a cupcake or macaron? They are tracking purchases of Obama and Romney decorated pastries and posting the results on their Facebook and Twitter pages. The Capitol Hill bakery is also throwing in a perk for your vote with their GOTV (“Get Out the Vote”) Campaign. After you vote on election day, get over there with your “I Voted” sticker and pick up a FREE dessert.
Art & Soul will host an election night party on November 6. Guests can watch the results roll in on the large TV’s, while enjoying happy hour prices from 7 pm until a decision is made. Additional specials include:
- Guests wearing an “I Voted” sticker may purchase one cocktail from the Swing State cocktail menu, and get one cocktail complimentary for a friend – regardless of which side of the aisle they support.
- When the results are announced for a swing state, that swing state’s cocktail is available for half off for 15 minutes following the announcement.
Baked by Yael, an online bakery based in Cleveland Park, is sweetening the final stretch of a bitter campaign season. Lauded as the “Best Cake Pop” in Washington by Washingtonian this year, Baked by Yael will be offering limited edition election cake pops now through Election Day.
BGR features two signature burgers in honor of the 2012 Presidential race where guests can place their vote on which one is the tastiest. The two burgers are sharing billing as BGR The Burger Joint’s “Burger of the Month” through Election Day, with $1 from the sale of each Presidential Burger sold going to benefit Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign. The President Barack Obama Burger is a signature BGR patty topped with a Chicago “Vienna Beef” hot dog with neon green relish and sport peppers. The Governor Mitt Romney Burger is a nod to New England surf and turf which includes a signature BGR patty topped with Lobster and hollandaise.

Del Frisco’s Grille will offer each guest (21 and over) wearing an official “I Voted” sticker, a complimentary Partisan shot with the purchase of food or drink, as a reward for exercising the right to vote. The Partisan, served ice cold straight from the tap, is a blend of Sauza Silver tequila, pomegranate, blood orange, and passion fruit juices.

Shake Shack celebrates the 2012 election with “Shack the Vote” on November 2nd. From 11am to 11pm, Shake Shack will partner with the national Rock the Vote campaign, setting up a Pledge to Vote table at the Dupont Circle Shake Shack. For every pledge to vote taken on November 6th, patrons will receive one coupon for a free cup of custard to be redeemed on Election Day, including the Presidential Caramel Custard made with gooey caramel mixed into Shake Shack’s famed custard. Vinoteca hosts an All-Day Happy Hour Party featuring $5 wines and food specials. Those with an “I Voted” sticker can unwind with a round of outdoor bocce and enjoy more than 15 wines at $5/glass, $5 Peroni drafts, as well as discounted small plates. José Andrés and his culinary team at Oyamel Cocina Mexicana invite guests to take part in an election night party in the restaurant’s private dining room on November 6th, from 8 pm-until the tally is in for the newly elected president, or last call whichever comes first. Oyamel will be running two drink specials representing President Obama and Romney. The Private Dining Room will open at 8 pm for viewing the election on the large TV and guests will be able to order drinks and food throughout the night. The two featured cocktails Red and Blue are both priced at $10.
Red Cocktail: Ponche de Granada. Cranberry Tea Infused Tequila with Fresh Pressed Apple Cider, Ginger, Mexican Cinnamon and Lemon Juice

Tami Sawyers & Friends are hosting an Election Night Watch Party @ Indulj (1208 U Street NW). Event begins at 6pm (FREE admission all night) with $5 happy hour specials All night. Complimentary Hennessy cocktails from 9 pm-11 pm and there will be complimentary appetizers served. CNN will be shown on all screens and music will be provided by DJ Chase. Boqueria (1837 M St. NW; www.boqueriadc.com) is hosting a live presidential election viewing party tomorrow, Tuesday, November 6th. The screening will take place in the restaurant’s private dining space and a special unlimited tapas and drinks menu will be available for $40 (plus tax and gratuity). The menu, which features a selection of Boqueria’s signature tapas dishes like Pimientos de Padrón, Bocadillo de Butifarra, and Bombas a la Barcoloneta as well as politically inclined drink specials including Democratic Blue (berry) or Republican Red Sangria, Port City Optimal Wit, and DC Brau Public Pale Ale, will be available from 7:30 pm – 11:30 pm. Z-Burger will be giving out FREE Burgers tomorrow. Anyone who visits Z-Burger wearing an “I Voted” sticker or who says “ZVote” will receive a single hamburger or cheeseburger for free. The offer is valid only at the Z-Burger Tenleytown, Southwest and Columbia Heights locations and is good for one burger per person.
