Food News Roundup
New summer, new happy hours. The DC Food Bloggers will take their monthly happy hours to Vento in Dupont Circle (*Hosted by GoGastronomy and Thrifty DC Cook). Excellent choice. After taking a few friends here for a girls night out and receiving rave reviews for my recommendation, I’m curious to see what it’s like for happy hour. Fingers crossed for the same outcome. Happy hour specials include $5 wine and specialty cocktails, $4 beers and 1/2 off the bar menu. Cheers!
Clyde’s of Columbia kicks off its inaugural Craft Beer Tasting & Festival this weekend (May 21, 2011, 1pm-8pm). Live music, craft breweries and food will fill the outdoor space. $2.50 for tickets (*4 oz. tasting cup=1 ticket; all food=2 tickets; bottled water=1 ticket).
Starbucks expands its Reserve Coffee collection with its newest coffee, Fair Trade Certified Rwanda Gakenke. As a Starbucks Gold member, its no surprise that I’ve tried almost everything Starbucks has to offer…looking forward to this new addition needless to say. The Starbucks Reserve line was created to give customers the opportunity to taste some of the rarest coffees around the world. With that being said, I’ll take mines Venti, please.
