Etiquette Tuesday: Too much??

Less is more.  Ever heard that phrase before?  Well, this should be applied to condiments used at the table.  Adding excessive amounts of ketchup, mustard, salt etc. on your food is simply bad dining etiquette.  Now I know the first thought in your head is “It’s my food, I can do what I want with it”.  This is very true.  You have a right to add just as much soy sauce and hot sauce as you please but when dining with others, it is not a good look to use half the bottle.

When out with friends and for leisure, etiquette rules typically go to the wayside or are thrown out the window.  When out for business, please adhere to this rule.  As I have stated before, most business deals happen where food is involved i.e. over dinner, coffee, etc., so keep this in mind when you are trying to seal that million dollar deal.  Additionally, keep in mind for the chef (*especially in a private dining setting), it’s almost an insult to the food.
