One More Week to Take Advantage of the DC Passport Program
Summer in D.C. opens the flood gates of drink specials. It is as if the town wants to encourage cocktails and more cocktails now that the temperature has increased exponentially. Of all the deals we have heard about this summer, DC Passport Program still has our attention. The DC Passport Program works like this: You visit a restaurant/bar in the passport booklet, get 2-for-1 drinks, tip your bartender (tip as though no discount has been applied) and move on to your next destination (Passport is only good once per venue).
Paying 2-for-1 anything in this town deserves at least a peak of interest and in this case where cocktails (*dranks!) are involved, I would not be surprised if they have run out of these little booklets. With local favorites like Buffalo + Bergen, Eat the Rich and Kapnos making the Passport cut, this tour de D.C. program has captured the pulse of the city. Our least favorite part of the program is the $20 fee to get a booklet in the first place, but I guess when you do the math you are really coming out on top.
Since I am not a mathematician, I’ll reserve my comments on what you would actually save by using the Passport Program. It does not, however, take a genius to see that 2-for-1 cocktails this week can make post-happy hour a whole lot “happier”…

*Johnna’s Tip: Make a night of it and create your own bar crawl. Snag a book, map out your quest and kick off this Labor Day weekend with some of the top cocktails in the city. Cheers!
