Dish to Try this Week: Grouper Ceviche
New year equals new eating goals and one of those goals is to eat more fresh seafood. Zengo’s latest Culinary Tour menu has a plethora of ways for me to keep my resolutions including a grouper ceviche that has helped to change my mind about one of my least favorite appetizers. Ceviche is never on my list of appetizer picks primarily because it typically includes a miniature bowl of vinegar drenched seafood leaving me with the worst of headaches (*and I do not get headaches). Zengo’s Grouper Ceviche has tons of flavor with a clean finish, the grouper has to be some of the freshest around these parts. Paired with radish, cilantro and one of my favorite add-ons, sea urchin (Zengo’s comes from the New England region), this is no lowbrow ceviche.
Not a ceviche lover? Try the Pork & Foie Gras Shumai Dumplings (Beer & Sake make up the base of the dish), the Mix Grill Satay (a tender skirt steak paired with sesame teriyaki) and the Blistered Shishito Peppers (try your luck: one out of 10 are spicy…I lucked up with one of the other nine.)
*Zengo’s Culinary Tour menu runs through January 31, 2016 and is available during dinner service beginning at 5 pm.
