Where I’m Eating: Bold Bite
Food made from scratch in Union Stations food court?? I was beginning to think this was an unrealistic expectation until I ventured down to the new Bold Bite Burgers, Fries & Dogs in Union Station. The owner prides himself on using fresh ingredients in his daily turnover of guacamole, chili and patties. The sister restaurant made an imprint on the Bethesda community a couple of years ago (*of course, I was there to check out the goods) and this location is offering Union Station what it seems to be lacking: fresh.
Having spent many days in this food court looking for something that remotely feels like I made it, Bold Bite’s is refreshing to find. Not so much for my waistline, but on days where the office has just become too much, comfort food is necessary. If you know me then you know I will not simply accept any type of comfort food drenched in cheese and grease. Bold Bite’s plays with bold concepts: the DC Asian Half-Smoke, Spicy Smoked Burger and the DC Guac Half-Smoke are just a few of their standout bites. Leaving the grease and over doused condiments off the food is one of the reasons Bold Bites stands out in this small sea of vendors in the bottom of Union Station.
Today has become one of those days. Dinner anyone?

Johnna,
Sounds like a great place, and I will try to visit either one of them. However, I noticed they don’t have one ingredient I crave on my hot dog: salt pork. Sounds like gilding the lily, but it does add a certain something to the hot dog.

Thanks Rene!! This sounds like I need to add it to mine…
