Franciacorta entered my life at the perfect time. Summer is ready to begin, birds are chirping and picnics and rooftop happy hours are filling the schedule. This the perfect accompaniment to any of the above. Located along the Lago D’Iseo and a stones throw from Milan, the vineyards of Franciacorta are young with old age wisdom in the wine business. With 22 million bottles being sold (though less than its’ peers, 22 million is 22 million…), people are adding the Pinot Nero and Chardonnay based wine to their collections. Yours truly included. My faves: any of their sparkling rosé and Bruts. Cheers!
