Choosing the right frying pan is just as important as picking the right chef’s knife.  If you are cooking like I do (minimum three to four times a week) then you are spending a lot of time with your kitchen utensils.  My pans are one of my most used assets because 90% of my cooking life involves some sort of searing, sautéing and/or frying.  I recently got the opportunity to test out a new frying pan on the market, the American Clad 316Ti Cookware by Hammer Stahl 12” fry pan.

The pan appears sleek and weighty in design, where the steel undertones are apparent.  I kept it simple (real simple) and scrambled some eggs in my new fry toy.  I am not mad at the base that allowed me to mix up my scrambled concoction.  When it was time to clean, I did have to soak in the sink for a bit, which is what I expect from most fry pans similar to this one.  I would, however, recommend using this more for stir-fry’s, searing meats and sautéing veggies.

Labeled “the only frying pan you will ever need”, I can agree.  I find myself whipping it out frequently for all of my cooking needs.  Though not the ultimate non-stick surface I tend to gravitate toward in my daily frying pan needs, this pan can stand up to the high heat I bring to the kitchen.  That alone is worth considering adding to the repertoire.
