1. City Paper’s Best of DC poll kicks off on January 20th with a voting party at Texas de Brazil (455 Massachusetts Ave NW) from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  There are more than 270 categories on this year’s ballot, including several creative categories like Best Handmade Accessories, Best Handmade Clothing, Best Handmade Eco-Friendly Products, and Best Handmade Home Decor. 2.  Wildfire, located in Tysons Galleria, 3rd floor, will hold an evening of all things bourbon on Friday, January 22, 2016, alongside a custom four-course menu of food pairings from Beam, Inc.  The dinner begins with a reception of passed appetizers at 6:30 p.m. followed by a seated dinner at 7:00 p.m. The cost is $95.00/person plus tax (gratuity not included). 9.  The 13th annual Blue Jeans Ball, featuring tastings from outstanding area chefs, live music, live and silent auctions will be held on March 13, 2016 beginning at 5 pm at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. Chefs Ruth Gresser, Sherry Yard and Jeff Buben will lead tastings by 40 of the area’s hottest restaurants and denim-clad guests to raise funds for the Washington metro area’s largest hunger relief organization, which helps 540,000 people each year get access to good, healthy food.  More info and get tickets here:  capitalareafoodbank.org/blue-jeans-ball/
