Good Deed Tuesday: To The Market, Survivor Made Goods
You know how much I love good deeds and this weeks pick has to be one of my favorites by far. Jane Mosbacher Morris is one of the most inspiring entrepreneaurs that I know with her venture, To The Market (TTM), Survivor Made Goods. What is TTM? See below:
TTM is a social enterprise focused on the promotion of goods made by and stories survivors of conflict, abuse, and disease. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to; survivors of abuse, such as survivors of domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse, and human trafficking; survivors of conflict, such as war widows, refugees, or persons living in conflict/post-conflict states; or survivors of disease, including populations living with HIV/AIDS, leprosy, or physical disabilities. Current and upcoming partnering countries include: Afghanistan, Uganda, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Nepal, the United States and more.
TTM recently visited City Center DC and we had the pleasure of checking out the goods for sale. Beautiful patterns and creative products filled the tables of survivor made goods. JKGF was blown away at the craftsmanship and wanted to make sure we shared the good news with any and everyone who crosses our paths.
The great thing about TTM is you can order online (technology is a wonderful thing). Check out the site here: http://www.tothemarket.com/. Share your finds with us! (johnna@johnnaknowsgoodfood.com)
