Lunchtime at Corner Bakery
While out during my lunch hour looking for a new lunchtime option, I decided to take a trip to an old institution in these DC streets, Corner Bakery. I have had their sandwiches in the past and feeling that I could not go wrong on the cold blistery day, I went for their new Chicken Pomadori Panini on sourdough. The panini had thin slices of all-natural roasted chicken, fresh basil and spinach, oven-roasted tomatoes, provolone cheese and homemade pesto mayo. The fresh ingredients were stacked high and then pressed until the panini was a crunchy, gooey, melted mountain of perfection. It was so warm and savory! It made me forget all about the frigid temperatures outside. Sometimes familiar surroundings make for the best lunch. Corner Bakery certainly fits this bill.
