Taste of DC is Happening This Weekend
When the weather starts cooling, people tend to start eating a lot more. Concerns about beach worthy bodies become lax, while sweaters and comfort food become more sought after. This Columbus Day weekend is no different as the 2014 Taste of DC occurs on everyone’s beloved street…Pennsylvania Avenue. With a five block radius to cover, foodies you have some work to do. So get there early, eat merrily, and remember to please drink responsibly.
Food—With over 20 food trucks (think CapMac & Rito Loco,) and 40 restaurants (think Timber Pizza Co. & Willie T’s Lobster Shack,) there is no shortage to choose from. Not to mention the 4th Annual Ben’s Chili Bowl World Chili Eating Championship (half smokes not included.) VIP more your style? Then make sure to check out some great events from Cochon 555, a company who honors the pig all year round. Just make sure not to gain 60 pounds.
Spirits— 50+ selections of wines, 50+ selections of beer. Last time I checked that’s over a hundred choices. Score!
Entertainment—Two stages means twice the fun, and with a line-up that includes the Muddy Crows, Good Kemistry, and The Raised by Wolves you’ll be able to dance off some of those calories.
Charity—Proceeds from the evening will be given to Capital Area Food Bank which supports eradicating hunger throughout the District by collecting and dispersing food through the proper channels to assist those who are in need.
Can’t wait? Neither can we.
