This week’s Etiquette Tuesday will be quick and easy: The Thank You note. The key to this tip is not totally the thank you note by itself, but the timing of the thank you note. Thank you notes for gifts, event attendance, etc. should go out within two weeks of the event. Ok, I’ll give you three to four weeks for a wedding or similar occasion. The reason this is important is it shows your gift givers, attendees and the like, that you showing your appreciation for their support is at the top of your to do list. Six months to a year later, symbolizes you could give two ****s that they know this and you will get around to it whenever the day moves you to do so.
I thought this was an important tip to include in Etiquette Tuesday because there is an old phrase that I think every person should learn from an early age: Please and Thank You will carry you far in this life.
