Cape Charles House Bed & Breakfast Breakfast
Historic Bayford Oyster House: Where most of the East Coast oysters start their process to our plates.
I was excited to be at Shooting Point Oyster Company oyster house.
The size of these oysters…Man…
Oyster producers are historic in this part of Virginia.
4Bitten in the building!
The sign speaks for itself.
Before the oysters go to spawn.
Headed to find some oysters.
4Bitten Media Reunion!
Oysters that will grace your plates sometime in the near future. Watching them grow here.
Oh yeah! Oyster growth.
Freakin’ huge.
Boating to the next destination: Chatham Vineyards.
My ride leaving us at Chatham Vineyards.
Jon Wehner, owner of Chatham Vineyards, giving us a private tour on the property.
Chatham Vineyards has been around for four generations.
Never-ending land on Chatham Vineyards.
Look how excited me and Chef Patrick Evans-Hylton got at the site of wine and oysters at the end of the trail?!
Chef Amy Brandt provided a lunch packed with this Seared Rockfish over Oyster Cream Sauce with Roasted Pumpkin-Arugula Salad. Chatham Vineyards paired it with 2011 Church Creek Oak Chardonnay.
Probably one of my favorite dishes by Chef Amy B Catering: Roasted Hayman Sweet Potato Cake with Olli Prosciutto, Roasted Apple-Cabernet infused vinaigrette. Paired with 2010/2011 Cabernet Sauvignon.
My home away from home while in Cape Charles: Cape Charles House Bed & Breakfast.
Love how cozy this place is!
Oh me, oh my.
I had to sit on this porch at least once at Cape Charles House B&B.
Serious thoughts.
A visit to Chef Amy Brandt’s personal kitchen.

H.M. Terry Co. Clam Pile
I had to bring one back to the District.
Time for boating!
So peaceful on the ride out to see where the clams are raised.
Cape Charles, VA scenic views.
Apparently, having a boat and big dog are the trends on the Eastern Shore…everyone has one!!
Millions of oysters come from this small town.
Walking to more food. Yes, please.
Did not realize clam growth involves so much science?
This reminded me too much of high school chemistry. Absolutely no way I’ll ever be a clam producer!
Chemistry and clams.
Clams need a lot of care and attention before they reach our plates. More of their growth process.
More clam growth process.
BBQ was a welcome change from all the oysters and clams on the Eastern Shore (*not that I’m complaining…but a good rib never hurt anybody). @ Willis Co Barbeque
Love how Willis Co Barbeque has random old receipts under the glass on their tables. The owner said he found when he brought the place and decided to use as decoration.
Smoke out! The Willis Co Barbeque pit.
I came, I saw, I conquered. Virginia truly is for lovers. I am a lover of all things good food and this was definitely a place for me. *Say Cheese!*
