Pull Up a Chair @ the Drafting Table
There’s a new kid in town taking up the space formerly filled with ACKC chocolates. The Drafting Table opened its doors on October 4, so it’s not brand new to the neighborhood, but it is the newest spot in this area of 14th street. The restaurant brings the sports bar/restaurant appeal to the area with the menu full of typical and not so typical bar bites. Walking into the space, you instantly feel like making yourself at home and plopping down for some after-work convo and drinks among friends.
The top attributes Drafting Table has made to my life are the Fried Pickles and the Kaya Toast. Fried pickles are a rarity in DC. Why? I don’t know but they are finally on the 14th Street corridor. Cornmeal covered pickled cucumbers fried with a side of spicy remoulade makes watching your favorite team win or lose a little bit better. The Drafting Table sets itself apart from the rest of the typical bar menus with surprises like the Kaya Toast and Fried Pickles but for those of us who need that classic bar appeal, the Draftsman Burger should fulfill your craving.
