What more can one ask for on a crisp fall day? I attended the Raggaefest at Linganore Winecellars and had a wonderful time. Just a short drive from the District, the ride to the location was breathtaking. It takes you on a drive through the country where the fall trees are in full bloom. When you arrive at Linganore, you have a sense of family. Surrounded by wine lovers, you immedietly take your seat on the lawn and begin to enjoy the festivities. The first stop at this event was to sign-up for the tour. This tour will take you through the history of Linganore. At the end of the tour, you are able to enjoy a tasting of seven wine options. If that is not enough, take a trip to the huge tent outside and enjoy more samples. Once you had your share of samples, you are able to purchase a bottle to enjoy while you make your way back down to your seat. As a note, don’t worry about running into overpriced bottles, each one is very affordable. While I ususally lean toward white wines, I ended up purchasing a red deciding to break out of my comfort zone and try something a little new. Let’s just say, I was not disapppointed. I recommend taking a trip to wine country where you will be able to try them all for yourself!
