Etiquette Tuesday: Del Frisco’s Knows Good Etiquette
Writing Etiquette Tuesday means I am always on the case when it comes to sharing new dining tips with you guys. This week excites me because I get to share an experience that left a sweet taste in my mouth. A few weeks ago, I celebrated another some-odd birthday and one of my fave ladies took me out for a night of good food and drinks. I love when my friends let me pick the spot because I am almost always going to choose the newest place to test run with my buddies. This week’s experiment took us to Del Frisco’s Grille on Pennsylvania Avenue.
Engaged in some of the best belly aching laughs and chatter, I look over to find a less than appealing site that almost made both of us jump out of our seat. Immediately, I notified the manager and from that moment waiters, the managers and even the Wine Director rushed over to rectify the situation. Being in DC for over 10 years, my friend and I were both not surprised to find the less than appealing site so we did not make much of an issue about it and continued on with our convo’s and nibbles.
Management obviously was not pleased with what had happened and offered us two complimentary Adult Milkshakes. As if that was not enough, once the bill came around, the manager had removed both entrees from the final price. Talk about customer service!
For those of you that do not live in DC, this may seem like everyday life but in the District good service can be hard to come by. I’ve left restaurants with certified medical bills from cuts and bruises due to the restaurant and all I got offered was half off the bill and a smile. Smh (*Translation: Shaking My Head). This week’s Etiquette Tip speaks to restaurants: know how to rectify a bad situation fast, good customer service brings customers into your restaurant. From this experience, I’m sharing it with you, hopefully you’ll share with someone else and the domino effect ensues. Will I go back to Del Frisco Grille? Yup, anyplace that takes customer service serious can be a friend of mines.
