Etiquette Tuesday: Naptime

Etiquette Tuesday is back, we had been asleep for awhile just like the story I’m about to tell you.  What NOT to do after you finish your meal at a dinner party?? Take a nap on the hosts couch.  Smh (*Translation: shaking my head).  Recently I attended a dinner party filled with a few of my favorite things: good company, a juicy, tender entree and mac n’ cheese.  I sure could have taken a nice little nap after nibbling on one of everything but it clearly did not even cross my mind to be so tactless.  Not so much for one of the other guests that attended.  They proceeded to take, not one, but about 4-5 naps in between being awoken by almost everyone at the dinner party.

With episodes like these, Etiquette Tuesday will never lay to rest.  I love it because I like talking to the readers but I’m frowning because this is just terrible manners.  Now I understand eating and running is just as bad etiquette but simply stick it out a good 30 minutes after you’ve taken your last bite and politely excuse yourself.  Explaining to the host how exhausted you are and having to leave is a better way out than drooling on their couch.  Another suggestion: get some rest before you show up at the dinner party…
