Restaurant Openings in D.C.

The New Ardeo/Bardeo

Graffiato opens in Spring 2011.  The Washington area Italian feast continues with this venture from former Top Chef Contestant Chef Mike Isabella.  The restaurant will be located at 707 6th street, NW.
Smith Commons Dining Room and Public House will open on December 21, 2010 @ 1245 H street, NE.  Opening in the H street corridor, the menu will feature comfort food (*Think: mac n’ cheese with aged Manchego cheese finished with a serving of banana almond beignets. Yum.).  Also, the usual suspects: lots ‘o wine, beer and cocktails.

Galileo III is now open. Chef Roberto Donna has created an Italian menu that is boasting fresh and authentic flavors. Tom Sietsema recently sat down with Chef Donna to discuss everything from Chef Donna’s controversial tax evasion issues that made public headlines to his favorite soups and stews. See that entire chat here.

Merzi is now open.  Think Chipotle with good, fast Indian food.  The Penn Quarter restaurant sits at 415 7th street, NW.

REOPENINGS

Ardeo/Bardeo has re-opened its doors after renovations.  The restaurants gutted out the wall that used to separate the two and spread out a whole new decor.  Now sits a huge bar and new pictures line the walls adding a classy face-lift.  Gladly, the upstairs scene has not changed drastically and still offers the intimate setting needed for a Sunday Brunch with girlfriends.

M&S Grill has reopened its doors on 600 13th street, NW, Washington, DC. And yes, the wonderful happy hour is still in place (*$1.95 bar menu).
