Thanksgiving At Bond 45

Slow Braised Lamb Shank Ossobuco @ Bond 45

The last time I visited Bond 45 on the National Harbor, it felt like Thanksgiving.  There were mounds of hearty side dishes, salads, appetizers and chocolate mousse served in metal tubs…it was bliss.  For a foodie, leaving a restaurant not only full but overly satisfied is the start/end of a goodnight.  These were my exact sentiments when the crisp night air hit my face after leaving the revolving doors of Bond 45 this past weekend.  After receiving word about a new Thanksgiving menu and being invited in to nibble on a few of the creations, I loaded up my Batmobile and headed down I-295.  Every time I approach the National Harbor, I am mesmerized by the newness and possibilities…specifically the possibilities in food.

Now I stint to say when I will make my own full course Thanksgiving meal, so finding someone to do all the dirty work is right up my alley.  Finding a spot to make you not miss home is the problem, so that’s where the checklist comes in.  Bond has a comprehensive menu of all the classic Thanksgiving flavors:  Roasted Butternut Squash Soup, Herb Roasted Heritage Organic Turkey, Roast Baby Pig, Pumpkin Pie and Pecan Pie, just to name a few.  The 6-course Italian-American meal will certainly leave you feeling the way you feel after every Thanksgiving: like you either need to change into your favorite sweatpants or unbutton your pants.  Satisfaction seems to be a guarantee.  Also, the good thing about leaving your house with the family to celebrate the day of thanks??  No one has to do the dishes.
