Restaurant Week is here…why doesn’t it feel like it?? Ironically, we have a total of two reservations and a possible. This is unusual because typically, we book about 5 to 6 reservations every restaurant week and try to break the bank paying for all these dining excursions. Not this year! 2010 means a budget, means learning from past lessons and not falling weak every time a bite of food is waved in our face. We’re growing up:-) So this year we chose our picks wisely: Capital Grille and 1789 made the cut. Why? Well Capital Grille because it is quite pricey (*The pricier the better during restaurant week…) and you may find this weird but it’s hard for us to go to places with chainish names (*Translation: JKGF’s made up word for the typical restaurant names i.e. “District” or “Capital”). Now don’t get us wrong, we love a good rib or two from the District Chophouse but that’s because they stood above their chainish type name. Let’s see if Capital Grille will do the same.1789 speaks for itself. We haven’t heard many, if at all, bad things about this restaurant. It’s the good things that made us jump at a reservation for 1789, which we booked the day the Restaurant Week list was announced. We’re excited and will hopefully have nothing but good food stories to fill your computer screens. Shall we say Bon Appetit?!The Money: Three-course lunches for $20.10 and three-course dinners for $35.10.
