How disappointed were we to find out Radius does not serve lunch?? (*They don’t open until 5 pm Monday thru Friday) Our frowns turned to smiles after learning about the cool happy hours they host each week. Today’s Happy Monday comes from Radius Restaurant of Mount Pleasant which is a pretty cool neighborhood for low key dining spots. Created by the husband and wife team, Todd and Nicole Wiss, Radius has been getting quite a buzz since its opening in April 2009. New to the DC restaurant scene, Radius boasts “simple, fresh and seasonal” cuisine. Top pizza selections include the Piaggio (*Fresh basil, sun-dried tomatoes…) and the Ducati (*Spicy w/ house-made Italian sausage, roasted red peppers and red onion…).Now for the “economy friendly” happy hour (*Yes, that’s what they call it…and we can believe it @ these prices):1. The Daily Slice and Pint Happy Hour features a slice of cheese pizza and any draft pint for $5. (*5 pm-7 pm)2. Wednesday Wine Night offers guests a complimentary bottle of wine w/ the purchase of either a large pizza and an appetizer or two entrees and an appetizer.3. Also, for all those Redskins fans who are feeling discouraged, Radius is at least offering your belly some comfort with specials during all NFL games.Wednesday night looks like our night:-)Radius Restaurant3155 Mount Pleasant Street, NWWashington, D.C. 20010(202) 234-0808Hours: M-F 5 pm-11 pm, Sat. & Sun. 12 pm-11 pm
