Drinks on Me: Atomic Bomb (Alcoholic)
1/2 part Absinthe Original
1/2 part Brandy
1 orange
Combine Absinthe and Brandy; stir. Pour into a glass and garnish rim with orange (*See here different ideas for the orange garnish.)
*Johnna’s tip: JKGF knows we have weird ways of infusing different flavors and adding garnishes that are atypical from the norm, but that’s the great thing about recipes…they can be altered and dressed to your individual tastes and preferences. We decided to add some citrus flavor after having another version of this drink at a District cocktail lounge, The Gibson. Theirs had a little bit of spice that matched perfectly with the Brandy and Absinthe.
*Johnna’s tip, tip: Did you know that Absinthe just became legal in the U.S.?? Apparently, in December 2007, St. George Absinthe Verte, produced by St. George Spirits of California, became the first brand of American-made absinthe to be legally produced in the United States since the enactment of a longstanding U.S. ban on absinthe. It had been banned because it was said to have harmful effects (*addictive psychoactive drug) and authorities later realized that its effects were no more harmful than those of ordinary liquors.
