Hot, Hot Chocolate
1 tbsp. cocoa powder
2 1/2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. water
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp. of vanilla
Combine cocoa, water and sugar in a small pot; bring temperature to low heat and stir so that the ingredients don’t stick to the side of the pot. Add in the milk and vanilla after the ingredients are warmed; stir. Cook until hot and serve.
*Johnna’s tip: Use this recipe now! (*That is if you are in the District…if you’re in Miami, please disregard…;-) The temperatures today and around much of the country are below the point of simply having a warm coat to heat up, you need to bring in reinforcement with warm fluids going through the body. If you’re making your way here for the Inaugural activities, make this hot chocolate and put in your thermos…you’re certainly going to need it.
